Nothing is more flattering then this......over the past five years, I have had the distinct pleasure of capturing the milestones of this wonderful couple’s life journey. From their engagement photos and intimate boudoir session to their beautiful wedding day, maternity to the arrival of their first child, and now, their second maternity session, every moment has been a testament to their love and growing family. This visual planning tool helped us to align our visions and set a clear direction for the shoot. It was filled with inspirational images that conveyed the look and feel we wanted to achieve, including poses, wardrobe ideas, and location settings.

We also scheduled a detailed phone consultation to discuss wardrobe options, ideas for incorporating their first child into the session, and the best times for natural lighting. Understanding the couple’s style and preferences allowed me to tailor the session to their unique personality and story.

Choosing the Perfect Time and Location

Timing is everything in photography, and for this session, we decided to push a little later into the evening, despite the little one’s bedtime. This decision was driven by our desire to capture the enchanting golden light that bathes Ragle Ranch Park at sunset. The park’s lush greenery, open fields, and charming pathways provided the perfect backdrop for the session, enhancing the natural beauty and warmth of the family’s moments together.

Wardrobe and Styling Tips

Wardrobe plays a crucial role in the overall aesthetic of the photos. Making the Session Enjoyable for Little Ones

Including a young child in a maternity session can be challenging, but with a bit of planning, it can also be incredibly rewarding. We made sure to bring along some favorite toys and snacks to keep the little one happy and engaged. Short breaks were essential to let him explore the park and release some energy, making the experience enjoyable for everyone. Having his favorite Auntie there to take over on those breaks allowed us some time for Mom and Dad to have some photos together.

Post-Session Magic

After the session, the magic continues with careful selection and editing of the best images. My goal is to highlight the emotion and connection in each photo, using natural tones and light enhancements to maintain the authenticity of the moment.
